FIJI 13 December 2009 – Malolo Island Fiji has re-opened after a 6 week closure as part of a major F$2M refurbishment.

The refurbishment consists of a complete redesign of the exteriors of all the rooms including adding an additional two family bures to the resort’s existing one, brand new interiors for the rooms, new decking around the Beach Bar and a larger covered area offering more shade and shelter, a new Reception, both swimming pools completely renovated including new pool decking, and a significant facelift for the Terrace Restaurant.

You will be served by the descendants of villagers who have lived in Fiji for thousands of years, offering true Fijian hospitality. 

Perfect for families and couples alike, at Malolo, you can fill your day with a myriad of activities or simply unwind and do nothing at all.
For families, there is a free kids club for 4-12 year olds and a substantial children's choice on the menu.

100% owned by a local Fijian family, Malolo is all about reconnecting with family and friends without the distractions of "mod-cons".

Accommodation Overview

Plantation style duplex accommodation reminiscent of the colonial era with high vaulted ceilings, provide a feeling of spaciousness and rustic elegance.

The bures are fully air-conditioned and set amongst lush tropical gardens, and some are only a few lazy steps from the beach and waters edge.

With a total of 47 bures, Malolo offers three different categories including 30 Ocean View Bures, 14 Deluxe Ocean View Bures and 3 Family Bures. 

All Oceanview and Deluxe Oceanview Bures have a king bed and two single beds, ideal for a family of four or a couple.

The Malolo Island Resort reception is open 24 hours and other facilities include Leilani's Spa, a clothing and gift boutique, 3 dining venues & bars, Talei Lounge and Kids Club.

Malolo offers a wide range of options for those seeking a more active holiday and all guests have access to a number of free activities within the resort.

These include: snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, walking trails, and beach volleyball. Kids are not forgotten with a free kids club (4-12yrs) with plenty of fun and games to keep them busy and entertained.

Motorized water sports and activities that incur charges include diving, parasailing, water skiing, island hopping, Dolphin spotting and local village trips.

Fishing excursions are also available however fishing is not permitted from the Malolo beach or headland as this has been declared a Marine park area.

Dining Options

Malolo Island Resort features a fantastic variety of menus and dining locations. From the selection of bars and dining venues, you can enjoy a casual snack by the beach or experience relaxed dining amongst the coconut palms.

Beach Bar

Located at the water's edge with spectacular sunset views over the fringing reef.

Open morning till evening, the Beach Bar offers casual beachside dining for lunch and dinner including an all day snack menu with kids choices, and evening cocktail hour with reduced price drinks and the sounds of the Malolo Serenaders. 
 
Enjoy the evening sunset ritual flare-lighting ceremony to the resounding beats of the Lali drum.

Terrace Restaurant

Centrally located with views across the resort swimming pools and lush gardens, the Terrace Restaurant offers all day al fresco dining with a full buffet breakfast each morning and a la carte lunch and dinner including a substantial children's menu.

Tree Tops Restaurant

Set above the Terrace Restaurant and below a canopy of trees and the Fijian sky Treetops  offers the Terrace dinner menu, but in a more relaxed venue for guests 13ys and over.

The resort's acclaimed Executive Chef offers a menu of Pacific Rim cuisine with local Pacific Island influences and produce.

With 30 Oceanview Bures each is 33 sq metres (355 sq feet) with 14 sq metre verandahs and have 1 x King size bed and two single beds suitable for up to 4 people (2 adults & 2 children).

All have air-conditioning, fridge, plunger coffee and tea making facilities, bathrooms, overhead fans and verandahs.
